I am finally going to be an official Star Wars artist with the release of 'Star Wars Galaxy 4' trading cards from Topps. I will be doing 100 sketch cards for the set, and it is my first time working on a licensed Star Wars product. Very cool, very excited!

Cover Samples

I'm working on some cover samples to help beef up my portfolio. Ever since I started doing sketch cards on a regular basis, I haven't had much time to work on anything larger than 2.5"x3.5". This has been very frustrating for me creatively. I've been trying to do some larger pieces here and there, but unfortunately "paying the bills" has had to come first. I'm still working on sketch cards, but I am trying to put together some cover samples to shop around. I am also going to be working with some of the most amazing digital colorists I can find to make them even more special. This is the first sample. I'm posting the original line art and the gray wash for comparison. Thanks for stopping by!

Drew Struzan

I can't believe Drew Struzan has retired from illustration. I really don't know what to say about it right now other than "this sucks". Let's just hope he continues to produce art in some capacity if not commercially, for himself and his legions of fans. Here's to you, Drew Struzan. Thanks for the memories!

Dark Knight Sketch Cards

Contrary to what Robert Downey Jr. and my buddy Avi thinks, I thought The Dark Knight was a pretty shweet flick. Yeah it was a bit long in the tooth, but Heath Ledger could not have been better. To celebrate my love for this film (in particular the Joker) I did a bunch of sketch cards based on the characters (in particular the Joker). Check 'em out!
